Important Notes

* Beginning with the 2006 racing season, all licensees will be required to have their picture taken at one of the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority office locations. If you have mailed in an application and have not received your license, please stop by one of our locations to have your picture taken and you will receive your license at that time. 

* Please print out one of the applications listed below and complete all fields of the application. An incomplete application will delay your licensure. Your application must be signed before it can be processed.

* We do not accept credit card payments. If you are mailing your application, we accept checks or money orders. If you are paying at one of our license office locations, we accept checks, money orders or cash. There is a $20 fee on any returned checks.

* The Kentucky Horse Racing Authority does not accept Canadian funds. Please make sure that if you are sending a Canadian check that you write "United States funds" on the check.

* Please do not fax your application. Faxed applications will not be accepted.

Office hours at Churchill Downs from now until April 25 shall be 9 a.m.-3 p.m., with lunch closings on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m.-12:30 p.m.  The office shall be closed for two 15-minute periods in the morning and in the afternoon on these days.  On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays there will be no lunch closings.

*After Derby - The Churchill Downs office will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (except Monday, April 26) and will be open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. or until the last claiming race (whichever is later), with no lunch closings.  The office will be open on Fridays from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., or until the last claiming race, with no lunch closings.
